CHANGE - Theater ... for a CHANGE

One-night stand ends six years later …

My first time.

Clarence Darrow was …

My first time.

He was going to be my one and only.

It was fantastic. Better than anyone ever said it could be. The nervousness in the knees. The butterflies in the stomach. It was all there. Then the lights went out and it began. The tension built. The giggles, at times. The intensity. The unexpected. The rapture. The afterglow.

I wanted it again. And again. And again. I wanted it so much that I seduced others to join me in the passion. For six years, about 200 times, at many places and with lots of people - lots and LOTS of people - we did it. People intimately sharing their emotions face-to-face while voyeurs watched from afar. It could have gone on forever.

But as with all good things, there must be an end. For if there is no end, how can we ever fondly look back and smile at all we dared to do?

Thank you for doing it with me, with us, with your loved ones, your friends, your neighbors, your pastors and priests, and even with total strangers.

“Show business is like sex. When it’s wonderful, it’s wonderful. But when it isn’t very good, it’s still all right.”
Max Wall (1908-1990)

I hope it was as wonderful for you as it was for me.

Please excuse me while I step outside. I need a cigarette.

We can still be friends. It’s not you, it’s me.

Oh, and I’d appreciate it if you would hit the lights and shut the door when you go.

I had a wonderful time!

Sincerely,
